Konami, the Japanese entertainment company, just announced that the 64-player battle royale Super Bomberman R Online just reached 3 million downloads worldwide. An important step for the game because it has just been released on May 27, 2021. To commemorate this feat, Konami will offer 500 “Bomber Coins†Super Bomberman R Online in-game currency, July 25. Bomber Coins can be redeemed for playable characters, costumes, and bombs. Even popular characters like the legendary hero Old Snake Bomber and Vic Viper Zero B Bomber will be among those who can be redeemed for Bomber Coins.

Super Bomberman R Online was initially available for download via Google Stadia in September 2020. It was not until May 2021 that the game was released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. Meanwhile, the sequel’s title has started to generate a lot more traffic since popular consoles started acquiring the game, although it is only speculation that it could have been the decision that has Super Bomberman R Online exceed 3 million downloads.

The sequel is a spin-off of the title of the main series, Super Bomberman R, which was first released as a Nintendo Switch exclusive title. Unlike the main series, Super Bomberman R Online focuses only on the battle royale gameplay aspect, with Battle 64 as the main mode. In Battle 64, players face off against 63 other players from various parts of the world in an explosive survival battle. You must fight your way to the end and outlast the other players in order to be crowned “bomber”.

The game also features a “Standard Mode” which supports up to 16 players at a time and a “Grand Prix” mode where players split into two teams and compete against each other to earn points, the team with the higher number of points wins the game. With endless content and 3 million downloads, finding players to play against shouldn’t be too difficult.
