Hurricane Ian relief doesn’t call Harris’ woke response
With the disastrous Hurricane Ian creating chaos and destruction in Florida, one would expect leaders in Washington to leave politics out of the picture.
Throughout American history, presidents have always tried to separate politics and natural disasters. Unfortunately, DC’s current leadership is doing just the opposite. Speaking about the distribution of long-term federal aid, Vice President Kamala Harris said it should be based on “equity,” which means race should be considered.
“We have to approach this in a way that is to give resources based on equity, understanding that we are fighting for equality, but we also have to fight for equity,” Harris said.
Ian left towns with destroyed buildings, homes, and roads, and the hurricane didn’t care what race of people live in the area. Everyone in Florida has been affected by this disaster, and it is despicable for the vice president to say that race should play a role in allocating aid.
The areas that took the most damage should get the most help to recover, and it has nothing to do with race.
Of course, Harris’ racial rhetoric comes as no surprise. In recent years, the word “equity” has become popular as left-wing social justice leaders have infected schools, businesses, and other important institutions in society.
Equity, in a nutshell, is the premise that historically disadvantaged groups should be given more resources and priority. What has this practice created? Madness.
The Washington Post ran a column last year claiming that math is racist. Harvard University created separate degrees for “equity” purposes. And the equity-awake crowd says America is rooted in racism and standardized testing is biased.
The equity movement has created more racial tensions in the country and set the United States back by emphasizing race in everything. Equity promotes collectivist rhetoric. And that’s part of the larger revival trend that’s also tied to gender and economics.
The word “Latino” has come under attack from woke intellectuals as they try to get “Latinx” into the language because it’s neutral. Minors have been seen in drag shows that should be for adults only. In June, at a show in Dallas, children handed out dollar bills to dancers at an event that featured a sign that read, “It’s not gonna lick itself!”
To have Harris, as second-in-command, enacting ridiculous rhetoric shows just how far this crook has gone within our important institutions — and how far left the Democratic Party has moved over the past 20 years.
The average American is not obsessed with the theory of race or gender identity. Americans are tired of hearing such nonsense spreading across the United States and affecting their lives.
If the Democrats continue on this path of awakening, it will give the Republicans the upper hand and big wins in November and hopefully in 2024. Because the last time I checked, the Republicans are not the ones who support child genital alteration and separate graduation ceremonies.
